Eagles SOAR

The first day of school has always been my favorite day of the year. It is full of excitement, anticipation, and it provides a fresh start for all. I had an opportunity to visit almost every classroom on the first day and I saw students engaging with their peers, getting to know their teachers, sharing their goals and vision for their learning this year, and much more. It was an empowering day; please enjoy the pictures below! As we settle into the school year, we have been discussing with students what it means to be a Monroe Eagle. We have used the phrase, "Eagles SOAR."

S: See Something, Say Something
O: Ownership: Be Honest, Have Integrity
A: Attitude: Be Positive, Lift Others
R: Respect for Self, Others, & Monroe

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our students, staff, and families for a great start to the year. Together, we will SOAR!

GO EAGLES!

Spirit Week
Curriculum Night

Curriculum Night 8/31

The faculty and administration invite each parent to visit Monroe on the evening of Thursday, August 31, 2023.  This evening is intended for parents to hear about the District curriculum and visit their student’s classes for the 2023-2024 academic year.  Teachers will briefly explain student expectations, important learning outcomes, homework and classroom procedures involving grading and the monitoring of student progress.

Please screenshot your student's schedule from ParentVUE prior to 8/31 so you are prepared with their daily schedule. Maps of the school and classrooms will be available as you enter for the evening, as well as student chaperones to assist you around the building.

Please note that some elective classes will be meeting together.

  • Physical education and health will meet together in the gym

  • 6th and 7th grade electives (Art, Speech, Drama, Design & Modeling, Music, Digital Literacy) will be meeting in the 6th grade MPR

Due to limited parking we remind you that the DuPage County Fairgrounds, located on the west side of the building will be available for parking. We ask that you please use Door #1 when entering the building for the evening. Looking forward to seeing you on the 31st!

To Tristen Marshall from Mrs. Coleman: "Tristen is a kind and polite young individual with great manners and an ability to be flexible and adjust to when things do not go according to plan/new situations. He is amazingly resourceful in his ability to recall a previous activity from Day 1 and using some of the information on it to complete a different but similar assignment on Day 4! Way to Go Tristen, Very Impressive! This is going to be an awesome year for you, I can feel it! Keep up the good work!"

To Oakes Kral from Mrs. Coleman: "Oakes comes to school full of energy. He has shown more than simply a willingness to be helpful to his classmates but also an eagerness to help others out. He seems to be in tuned and ready to jump right in and help his peers at every turn. Thank you for being able to be a source of help to others and a role model for some of our newer students to Monroe! You are rocking it!"

To Mia Schaber from Ms. Gaudette: "This student has been so incredibly kind to all of her teachers and classmates and is quick to offer help to anyone who needs it!"
