Halloween Information

We are very excited for the upcoming Halloween parade and parties! Please remember to abide by the district expectations regarding Halloween costumes.

  • "Students may not wear masks or headgear which prevent the clear identity of the student or create a safety concern. Costume paraphernalia, such as theatrical props and imitation weapons, are not allowed. Costumes and/or make-up, which are considered threatening or otherwise inappropriate, are forbidden."

Students should be able to change into their costume independently. Classroom teachers will not be able to assist students with changing

The parade will begin at 2:15 p.m. inside the school for students to view each other's costumes. We will then proceed out door 1 and follow the sidewalk around the building, past the playground and field, and by the car line driveway. We will re-enter the building at door 16. Parents/family members are welcome to stand outside and watch the parade. Visitors can line up on the basketball court, grass, or the car line driveway. Please keep the sidewalks clear for students.

In the case of inclement weather, parents will be able to watch the parade in the gym/MPR. We will have parents enter in door 17 directly to the gym and exit the same door after the parade. We will not be signing parents in at the office for parade viewing only.

Class parties will immediately follow the end of the parade. All party volunteers will be required to sign in at the office. Parties will conclude at 3:15 and party volunteers will assist with clean up after the party. Party volunteers are welcome to take their child with them after the party is over. If you leave before 3:30, please sign your child out in the office.

Reflections

Lowell is looking for students who are interested in participating in the Reflections art competition. Reflections is a National PTA program which promotes art in our schools. Students of all abilities in grades K-5 are encouraged to enter.

To participate... create an original work of art in 1 of 6 categories (Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts) to reflect the theme "I Belong!"

Students participate in their grade division: Primary (Pre-K – Grade 2), Intermediate (Grades 3-5), or Accessible Arts (All grades welcome). Students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 may enter in the Accessible Arts Division or grade division most closely aligned to their functional abilities.

All participants from Lowell will have their work displayed and will be given a participation award! For entry forms, rules, and additional details on each category, please CLICK HERE.

Deadline for entries: Tuesday, October 28th

Positive Office Referrals

Students at Lowell continually show our expectations of FLIGHT and we honor students through giving them a Soaring Eagle, which many of you have seen before. We are now adding something called a Positive Office Referral. A positive office referral can be filled out by any Lowell staff member for any student. The referral will be give to Mrs. Quintero who will then call the student to the office to celebrate their hard work by taking a picture with the student, making a positive phone call home, and the student will write their name on our Wall of High Flyers in the office.

PTA Meeting

The next public PTA is scheduled for Thursday, November 13th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the art room at Lowell. We hope to see you there!
