Animals on School Property

This is a friendly reminder that animals, with the exception of service animals, are not allowed on school property. Please refrain from bringing your pet with you at arrival or dismissal.

In order to assure student health and safety, animals are not allowed on school property, except in the case of a service animal accompanying a student or other individual with a documented disability. This rule may be temporarily waived by the building principal in the case of an educational opportunity for students, provided that (a) the animal is appropriately housed, humanely cared for, and properly handled, and (b) students will not be exposed to a dangerous animal or an unhealthy environment. (Policy 6:100, Using Animals in the Educational Program)

Reflections

Lowell is looking for students who are interested in participating in the Reflections art competition. Reflections is a National PTA program which promotes art in our schools. Students of all abilities in grades K-5 are encouraged to enter.

To participate... create an original work of art in 1 of 6 categories (Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts) to reflect the theme "I Belong!"

Students participate in their grade division: Primary (Pre-K – Grade 2), Intermediate (Grades 3-5), or Accessible Arts (All grades welcome). Students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 may enter in the Accessible Arts Division or grade division most closely aligned to their functional abilities.

All participants from Lowell will have their work displayed and will be given a participation award! For entry forms, rules, and additional details on each category, please CLICK HERE.

Deadline for entries: Tuesday, October 28th

Lowell Push Up Wall of Fame

Lowell PE is currently celebrating Lowell student’s ability to do ten pushups. We invite you to find a safe and creative place to have your child do ten pushups alone or with friends and/or family. Please take a photo of the tenth pushup, a big smile is required :-) Bring the 4 x 6 picture to PE and it will go up on the “Wall of Fame” in the gym hallway. The other students will try to figure out where the photo was taken. Please be sure to bring in the photo and give it to Mrs.Minser or Mrs. Radford. If it is sent via email, it probably won’t make it to the wall. Here’s your child’s chance to be famous at Lowell!

Positive Office Referrals

Students at Lowell continually show our expectations of FLIGHT and we honor students through giving them a Soaring Eagle, which many of you have seen before. We are now adding something called a Positive Office Referral. A positive office referral can be filled out by any Lowell staff member for any student. The referral will be give to Mrs. Quintero who will then call the student to the office to celebrate their hard work by taking a picture with the student, making a positive phone call home, and the student will write their name on our Wall of High Flyers in the office.
