NIGHTLOCKS INSTALLED AT EDISON
Last year, CUSD 200 invested in NightLocks, a secondary locking mechanism that adds an extra layer of security in our schools. During winter break, NightLocks were installed at all four of our middle schools. They were also installed in all of our elementary schools this past summer. Plans are in place to extend these safety measures to our high schools as well.

STUDENT SUCCESS TIPS FROM THE SCHOOL COUNSELORS
In middle school, tests may be more complicated, and students will be responsible for knowing more material. For your student to take tests successfully, consider recommending that they follow some of these strategies:
Listen to instructions that are given by the teacher. Read all the directions on the test.
Keep on pace to finish. Be sure to leave enough time to finish the entire test. Don’t keep looking at the clock, since that might cause more stress. But gauge how long it might take to answer questions in each section of the test. If a question cannot be answered right away, come back to it later.
Double-check all answers.
Reduce anxiety about taking tests. When someone is more prepared and understands the material, anxiety lessens. Take deep breaths before the exam and repeat, “I will do well on this test.”
