A message from Superintendent Dr. Jeff Schuler:

Dear District 200 Community,

It is hard to believe that the end of the 2023-24 school year is already drawing to a close. It has been a year filled with remarkable achievements, growth, and countless memorable moments across all 21 schools within District 200.

Each year, I look forward to the last few weeks of the school year where we come together as a District, community, and individual schools to celebrate many milestones with our students, staff, and parents. As an educator, nothing compares to the feeling of being able to celebrate the accomplishments and milestones of students and staff. These celebrations are a great reminder of why we are here, and the impact our work has on the success of our students.

While the list of these important celebrations is long, one of my favorite traditions in District 200 took place this week. Each year graduating seniors have the opportunity to go back to where their educational journey began and visit the elementary school they attended. Many of our graduating seniors put on their cap and gowns, walk the halls of their elementary school, and visit with their former teachers, all while being reminded how much they have grown and accomplished over the past 12 years.

Below is a video highlighting the senior visits to the elementary schools that took place this week.

While we have spent time this week celebrating the nearly 860 seniors who will graduate this Saturday, I want to take a moment to recognize all District 200 students. I commend the nearly 11,500 exceptional students in District 200 for their hard work, determination, and resilience throughout the 2023-24 school year. Whether you were engaged in classroom learning or juggling busy schedules with extracurricular activities, you have shown remarkable progress and perseverance. You should all be very proud of yourselves for the work you accomplished this year.

I also want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated educators, administrators, and support staff who have worked tirelessly to provide an enriching and safe learning environment for our students. Your passion for education, unwavering dedication to our students, and commitment to excellence have made a profound impact on our students’ lives.

Finally, I want to thank parents and guardians for your support and involvement in your child’s education. Your commitment and involvement in your child’s education is crucial to their success, and your encouragement and partnership with us have been invaluable throughout the year. We are grateful for the trust you place in us to educate your children.

As we bid farewell to the 2023-24 school year, I hope you have a restful, enjoyable, and safe summer break. Thank you for a fantastic school year!

Sincerely,

Dr. Jeff Schuler
Superintendent
